Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why are you sending people free stickers? What’s the catch?
A. There is no catch. We had a bunch of stickers left over from another project and we thought we should do something with them. Plus we think it’s fun to get photos from different places around the world.
Q. It looks like these stickers are part of some other project and you are actually looking for some free advertising. Don’t you think that is sneaky and disingenuous?
A. We’ve made it no secret that this project is an off-shoot of And Everything Was Alright movie and book. When we discussed starting Sticker to the Man, this is something we talked about. And in the end, we felt okay with it because the stickers don’t mention the URL of any of our websites and don’t quite fall in the category of blatant advertising. And we doubt many people will go online and search for And Everything Was Alright if they come across the sticker. But really, the bottom line is this: we are sending people free stickers and aren’t forcing anyone to participate.
Q. What happens if I take your stickers but don’t send you a photo?
A. Nothing really. We are pretty sure we won’t get a photo from everyone that we send stickers to. That is okay with us as long as most people do send us a photo. Although the ratio of people who request stickers versus people who send us photos is rather disproportionate. We insist that you request for stickers only if you really think you will be able to send us photos.
Q. What if you run out of stickers?
A. We think that’s a good problem to have. It would mean that the project has been somewhat successful. We’d be happy to design and print a new batch of stickers when we run out — perhaps something not related to another project.
Q. Can I post the sticker indoors?
A. Sure. Although ideally we’d like for it to be outdoors. That way we get to see a little bit of your city and makes for a much more interesting photo.
Q. Can I post the sticker on a body part?
A. Um… sure.
Q. Does it matter how big the photo is?
A. Doesn’t really matter but the larger the better. Although if its too small we probably won’t be able to post it on the site.
Q. Someone else has already sent in a photo from the city I live in. Can I still get stickers and send you a photo?
A. Absolutely. We don’t mind posting more than one photo from a particular city.
Q. Do you send stickers outside of the U.S.?
A. Absolutely. We’d like to get photos from as many different cities around the world as we possibly can.
Q. Who are you guys? I am sending you my mailing address so at least tell me something about yourself.
A. We are Adnan Alam, Robert Kilman and Safwat Saleem. You can find out more about us here.
Q. Where should I send my mailing address and photos?
A. stickertotheman at gmail.com
